Why are so many companies putting candidates through the ringer when there are clearly more jobs available than there are qualified candidates?

Often you will see managers and leaders looking to HR to fix people and situations that could have been avoided by demonstrating more consciousness and awareness before, during and after hiring.

While the job market is in total flux and companies are vying and or even dying to fill key roles, candidates often wonder why such intense screening just to get a job.

I constantly hear job seekers complain, if it is a candidates market then why don’t they just hire me”?
